ICT: An Instrument for Education Methodologies

1. How Information and Communication and Technology (ICT) has transformed the educational methodologies when you were in grade school and now in senior high school.

        Information and Communication and Technology transformed the educational methodologies into a different world since ICT has a huge impact as in it and makes their life easier in different aspects. Now that we are facing pandemic, ICT is very important instruments as we continue the academic school year. Even in the pre-pandemic ICT has a huge contributions on the educational methodologies such as for presentation, gathering of data information, and utilizing the internet resources.

Consider the following for comparison. 

   

 a. The singing of the National Anthem

        During my grade school, we require to form a line to start our day and week with the flag raising ceremony and sing the nation anthem. But during senior high school days, we rarely singing the national anthem and it can be done by my a zoom or online meeting.

 

  

b. Presentation of Visual Aids

        Teachers along with the students tend to use manila papers, tarpapers which they use as their visual aids to report and teach students. Along with that, the most use sources in gathering information and data are the text books, articles and studies. However as technologies was evolving and thriving, today during my senior high school, it made easy for the students like and teachers to make a reports and make a presentation with the help of our laptops and gadgets and the PowerPoints.

 

   

c. Class record

        In my grade school, teachers always have their class record with them to record the scores of his or her students which consists of columns and rows where they input the scores and grades. But with the help of ICT, through excel, it has been very easy for them to input the scores along with the computation of the grades of their students.

 

  

d. Class Dismissal

        During grade school we tend to do dismissed our in personal and one by one. But now in senior high, we use to dismissed our class virtually, greeting our classmates and teachers "goodbye" and "thank you" and by ending the zoom or google meet as the sign that classes has been ended.

 

  

e. Assignment and Research

        In my grade school days, my source of information and data are books along with other articles and studies in doing my assignments and researches. However, now in senior high school, through the use of technologies and internet, it is easier to do the researches and assignment with the help of of various and plenty of reliable information.

 

 

My Understanding of Multimedia

Multimedia: The Employment of Various Kinds of Media

                 Multimedia is the field concerned with the computer-controlled integration of text, graphics, drawings, still and moving images (Video), animation, audio, and any other media where every type of information can be represented, stored, transmitted and processed digitally." - Dave Marshall

              "Multimedia is the use of a computer to present and combine text, graphics, audio, and video with links and tools that let the user navigate, interact, create, and communicate." - udel.edu

          Once I heard the word multimedia, the ideas that comes to my mind was it is related to technology which has a combination of different media that turns into one. Like what the ude.edu defined it is combined text, audio, graphics, video, animations, and images that we can use for our daily lives such as to communicate, to interact, to make profit or just chilling around. From that multimedia plays a important role for the people since it guides, helps them, us to do things like for students and teachers from their presentations and educational aids, for business owners to advertise their products, to the government to inform their citizen of their platforms and steps for the development of our country, and for people who want to watch movies through online as their entertainment. In my perspective, multimedia makes the lie of people easier and comfortable. For instance, for a marketing team in a company, then can make visual aids and video advertisements and post in on social media to attract consumers along with students that they didn't need to write their presentation since their will be PowerPoint to help them. 

  

            

            Since I'm a student, multimedia was really helpful for me since I'll be using it for my school presentations like for example in defense, topic reports. Along with that, it helps me in making a school reports, assignments and projects like in excels I used for my accounting subject to make my like easier in computations and recording. Furthermore, multimedia help me in communicating my family and friends especially now we are facing pandemic.

            Based on what I observe, multimedia has a significance in different aspects like in education, business, home, entertainment and a lot of mores. 

            The significance of multimedia is that it helps the teachers in their teaching to create an interest for children to absorb and retain information more easily. It help the teacher and students to improve their teaching ang learning styles and the practical possibilities. For students, multimedia can engage them in the learning process.

  

             

       In Business, multimedia is the instruments for presentation, marketing, advertising, demos and communication between the company and the consumers. Presentation allows us to lecture in front of audiences and to present our product or project. Multimedia serve as medium to communicate the potential consumers along with the employees and part of the business or the company. it will also help in creating a name in the market since multimedia will help the business owners to be known in the market through advertising and tit will help the in creating marketing strategies.

          Multimedia can help people at home like in mainly in cooking and decoration. Family can use it as their entertainment purposes like watch video online, movie nights and just chilling listening music from YouTube to relax.
